ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS




INTERNATIONAL STUDENT APPLICATION & REQUIREMENTS

The entrance requirements at Pixel Blue College are more subjective than other post-secondary institutions. We are focused on finding people, who have not only the skills, but the drive and passion to be successful.

HOW TO APPLY

The following are required to apply to Pixel Blue College:

  1. Complete the Application Form and pay the application fee.

  2. A copy of your most recent transcripts or statement of marks.

  3. A sponsorship letter or documentation that you are able to pay for tuition costs and living expenses while studying in Canada.

  4. A copy of your resume.

  5. 2 letters of reference.

  6. Samples of your creative work (not required for Audio Engineering).

  7. Demonstrated proficiency in the English language (see below)

ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

All programs at Pixel Blue College are taught in English and adequate written and spoken proficiency is required. Students whose first language is not English must meet ONE of the following requirements:

  1. Successful completion of high school, verified by transcript, where English was the language of instruction.

  2. Transcripts demonstrating the successful completion of one year of full-time post-secondary education at an institution where English was the primary language of instruction.

  3. Demonstrate a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 for admission to the diploma program.


Student Checklist

Before Leaving For Canada:

  1. Review and compile information required to apply to enroll at Pixel Blue College. Submit application and receive Letter of Acceptance and Confirmation of Enrollment.

  2. Apply for a study permit from Canada Immigration and Citizenship. International students will need a study permit if they plan to study in Canada for more than 6 months, or if they would like to work part time while attending school. Allow three to four months for your application to be processed.

  3. Go to CIC to learn if, and how to, submit an online or paper application for a study permit.

  4. Check CIC application processing times to see typically how long it takes to process your application and make arrangments accordingly.

  5. Make travel arrangements: book flights.

  6. Make banking arrangements transfer money, purchase traveler's cheques, get credit cards. Make arrangements to pay tuition.

  7. Arrange for accommodation while you are in Canada.

  8. Arrange for private health care insurance.

When You Arrive In Canada:

  1. Provide all required entry documents to the Canada Immigration officer on arrival.

  2. Contact your family to tell them you have arrived safely.

  3. Attend the Orientation Program, and sign the Student Contract of Tuition.

  4. Get a student student I.D. card (provided at Orientation).

  5. Open a bank account.

  6. Get a Social Insurance Number (SIN) (necessary if you will be working with an off-campus work permit)

 

Please note that graduates from private career colleges, such as Pixel Blue College, are not eligible for the Post-Graduate Work Permit program. For more information, visit the Government of Canada Post Graduate Eligibility Website.

Tuition includes all required costs for attending Pixel Blue College including in-class instruction and lectures, a dedicated computer, software, textbooks, and all other course material.

Please note that tuition DOES NOT include the cost of accommodation, transportation, or living expenses.
